If I make a list of creatives that I love, it will be longer than River Nile. Count me in on anything creative: whether it's a movie, a video, a book, an article, or art. I want to be there. I want to see it, read it, touch it and appreciate it.
I love Korty EO. She is stunning and so are her videos. I like how she creates it. Her content tastes like the smell of dust when mixed with water, the feeling of satisfaction after eating that chicken you have been craving all week, the joy after accomplishing a task. She is original.
Korty is interesting. Her story is that of confusion, courage, resilience, and hard work. I admire her life and her art. Sometimes I get envious when I watch her videos. It lasts only a moment. Don't crucify me for my feelings. I'm being honest about them.
However, this envy helps me introspect. It fuels my desire for a certain kind of life. Whenever I watch videos of Korty and her likes they motivate me. I get this renewed energy to put myself out there more.
After listening to many people who are living their dreams, one thing they all say is this "I never imagined that I would be here today, meet this person, or work with this brand."
They all had the dream that what they were continually chasing would amount to something but they never envisioned how far. The difference between you and them is that they dared to dream, to start where they are and to put in effort like Korty.
I know it may seem like everyone is already doing things. Your niche seems saturated already. What other thing can you do? But you know, the sky is big enough to contain everybody.
And no one has done it your way. You are unique. Let the creative beast in you lose (okay. I just read this line again and it sounded like what a motivational speaker would say😆). Scratch that. But…you get what I mean right?
Sometimes we don't show up because we are afraid or lazy. But nobody ever has it all figured out. I had said in an earlier newsletter that clarity is a myth. You just have to start and push. And if you are lazy, get up from that place. Be intentional about your life.
In addition, everything is happening on social media these days. There is no more hiding. When you apply for jobs they ask for your social media handles. Your activity there increases your chances of getting that job. So you need to get active there and show what you are doing no matter your field.
The world wants to see you. So show up more and put yourself out there. It's never going to be clear. But great things happen on the other side of fear.
You can't show up if you are not intentional.
You can't thrive if you don't show up.
If you keep hiding, how will you thrive?
Cheers to your continued growth and a fulfilled life.
With love and everything beautiful,
