History of asọ-ẹbi isn't so far fetched tho... It's simply yoruba for family (ẹbi) attire (aṣọ). A particular choice of cloth to identify people of a particular family at an event.
I think people even use it wrongly nowadays, the right word for the ones worn at weddings and parties in general should rather be aṣọ ẹgbẹ́ (ceremonial and society attire).
Based on what I've read, the culture began during colonial era, yoruba elites started wearing uniform dresses at parties like that as a sort of status symbol. Then with time it spread beyond just the elites and to other parts of Nigeria and even neighbouring West African countries.
I think the term is used wrongly because other cultures like Igbo has always had young unmarried ladies who follow and dance with the bride during the wedding (what we call Traditional Marriage now).
Congratulations
😂😩
Thank you 😊
I can literally see you from your writings, you Trouble Maker 🤣

This is not even funny at all... It's really unfair how un-thoughtful people can be.
Yes! It's totally unfair. People don't value the sacrifices others make for them.
And I was there, while these girls were stressing out, I was there and I ate 3 plates of rice with up to 10 chicken wings😂😂🤤
Please, when will you do another wedding, at least to make up for what you did to them? Because you no do well at all
Well, I intend to have a small wedding so thank you for helping me strike your name off the list.
Plus you said I'm not nice. More reason why I won't invite you to my wedding 😁😉.
Good luck finding another wedding
